HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?

how-bad-do-you-want-it1
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

There is nothing more destructive on earth than sin. Not necessarily personal sin, but being born into sin we are all affected. Sin and sinning produces death. The good news is that Jesus came to rescue us from sin and the horrible impending judgment and present power of sin.

If you come to Christ you must believe he is a healer. From this position of believing in the power of God through his Son Jesus, miracles may be manifested. The question is, how bad do you want it?

The verse says the effectual fervent prayer. Fervent prayer is extremely hot; glowing prayer with great emotion and zeal. This prayer is not the kind of prayer one ushers to God haphazardly to expect an answer from him. You must labor in prayer.

Some of my prayers were not answered until after laboring in prayer for several hours on one desire. I prayed hard for the Lord to take my life, because I was unhappy and lonely. So I gave God several reasons as to why I did not need to be on the planet and after two hours of tears, crying, yelling; praying fervently for God to take me home to heaven, I get into my car, and soon as I leave my street, to get onto the main road, that leads to the highway the car in front of me has a bumper sticker that reads: “If you keep asking God to take you home he will keep you here longer.” Not the answer I was looking for, but an answer nonetheless. If God responds to a prayer like that, how much more if you labor in prayer for someone who is ill, lame, or unsaved.  Effective prayer is laborious.

How bad do you want that miracle or healing for yourself or a loved one?

God’s ways are not our ways and his thoughts exceed our thoughts.

What should I expect from God? You should expect a word from God. Every illness and every sickness God will not heal. Some God says my grace is sufficient, others he heals in steps and others he heals in an instant. The common denominator is, all who labor and thirst will be filled. God is no respecter of persons and he loves; for he is love and if you attend to him, he will answer you.

ARE YOU MATURE ENOUGH TO HEAR THE DATING TRUTH?

000000320254-Paige_Butcher-squaremediumI must confess that I get tired of this word bully. It is becoming more and more abused as time goes on. The ability for people to simply tell the truth is becoming more and more limited. When I was growing up in school it was commonplace to be made fun of. I was made fun of quite abit, I talk about it in Journey through the Desert and I think I turned out fine. I would not say I enjoyed the endeavor, but my value was established from loving parents and the word of God.

I enjoyed the days when telling the truth was easier and more accepted. I remember approaching this blonde girl in school, she was beautiful and tall. She was 5’10 and well I was shorter. The awesome thing about her was her honesty. At the time it was called spitting and I proceeded to do this and she said, I have to tell you something. I like my guys taller than me and I like milk instead of dark chocolate. I said, ok, and left her alone.

Of course, I was hurt a little, I liked her and it was a natural response, but I was also pleased by the honesty. The conversation was in private and she did not yell it from the rooftop. I also knew girls who liked me that I did not like. That’s life.

Let’s approach life with honesty. We all have people who like us that we do not like. Remember this when you approach someone who does not like you. Getting angry and bent out of shape is not necessary. Let’s learn to accept the truth and move on.

I play the matchmaker from time to time, my record is not that good, but what I found in doing this, that people do not like telling the truth. People are clearly not attracted to the other person and instead of simply saying this they say something else that sounds stupid. I am not sure if the other person always accepts this, but would not the truth be simpler?

If you are reading this blog, lets commit today to telling the truth. Of course, telling the truth can be done tactfully as in my experience and this is the way it should always be done. Her message was honest, in secret, and clear.

DEFAULT

Screen Shot 2016-02-08 at 2.29.45 PMWhat is your setting? What thought runs first, within your mind at the sight of danger? Where do you get answers from first? Is it the training you received in high school? Perhaps your psychology degree or sociology classes are the first thoughts that run within your mind. Who are you listening to?

If I were to ask you about relationships, would your experience define your truth or would your source be from another? If I were to ask you about an emotional problem, dealing with sickness or molestation what would you tell me? If I am single searching for the perfect mate and seem to only find abusers, what would be your words?

Would you immediately think about the Creator of heaven and earth? Would you secretly pray within your mind for the answer? Would you call on the name of the Lord?

Your default says a lot about, who, you depend on in times of trouble. Your default is clear evidence where you stand in your relationship with Jesus. For if he is the second, third, or fourth option, you are in trouble.

Whatever default your computer comes with can be changed, but not without the knowledge and time spent to change it. Spend time with Jesus and let him change your default.

WORRY?

dsc00960Worry weighs us down; a cheerful word picks us up. Proverbs 12:25

It is easy to say “don’t worry be happy” but without a cheerful word the saying becomes useless. “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Philippians 4:6

When worry visits you? Remember this blog and pray “Lord Jesus Christ get the devil off my back and tell him to cease with his words and open my ears to your message that says I can do all things in your name that strengthens me.”

*Note: worry is cancelled through prayer + praise to God, whose Spirit fills and settles down the believer.
