Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
There is nothing more destructive on earth than sin. Not necessarily personal sin, but being born into sin we are all affected. Sin and sinning produces death. The good news is that Jesus came to rescue us from sin and the horrible impending judgment and present power of sin.
If you come to Christ you must believe he is a healer. From this position of believing in the power of God through his Son Jesus, miracles may be manifested. The question is, how bad do you want it?
The verse says the effectual fervent prayer. Fervent prayer is extremely hot; glowing prayer with great emotion and zeal. This prayer is not the kind of prayer one ushers to God haphazardly to expect an answer from him. You must labor in prayer.
Some of my prayers were not answered until after laboring in prayer for several hours on one desire. I prayed hard for the Lord to take my life, because I was unhappy and lonely. So I gave God several reasons as to why I did not need to be on the planet and after two hours of tears, crying, yelling; praying fervently for God to take me home to heaven, I get into my car, and soon as I leave my street, to get onto the main road, that leads to the highway the car in front of me has a bumper sticker that reads: “If you keep asking God to take you home he will keep you here longer.” Not the answer I was looking for, but an answer nonetheless. If God responds to a prayer like that, how much more if you labor in prayer for someone who is ill, lame, or unsaved. Effective prayer is laborious.
How bad do you want that miracle or healing for yourself or a loved one?
God’s ways are not our ways and his thoughts exceed our thoughts.
What should I expect from God? You should expect a word from God. Every illness and every sickness God will not heal. Some God says my grace is sufficient, others he heals in steps and others he heals in an instant. The common denominator is, all who labor and thirst will be filled. God is no respecter of persons and he loves; for he is love and if you attend to him, he will answer you.
