COLD HEART

cold_cold_heart_by_sivel12001For the believer, in the US, life is becoming more difficult. The freedom to hold a righteous standard is being challenged. The freedom to live in truth is being challenged. The choice of serving God or money is becoming more real. You have called yourself a Christian and now we shall see. The test of authenticity is already here.

Your heart is being tested. Will you serve your own belly or follow God? Will you trust him or yourself? The time of testing is perfect. Your success will determine your promotion.

A cold heart is the result of being a lone ranger. You shall not survive without being connected to a holy church. A church that preaches about living righteously and abhoring sin. A church that holds the Bible in high esteem and works to follow every precept. A church that does not use noncanonical sources as gospel, but opens the Bible for its direction.

God is extremely clear about sin. You have to be a total ignoramus to be confused. The world does not love you. The world will never love you. You are a fool if you think it does. God loves his children and at the appointed time he will rescue you. When he comes to rescue, will you be found following him? Do not get caught off guard.

Hearts remain warm when surround by God’s love and truth.  Hearts remain warm when surrounded by true believers in Jesus. Hearts remain warm when you surround yourself with lovers of Jesus and lovers of people. Hearts remain warm when sin is treated like sin and not a disease.

Through repentance a cold heart may become warmed. Your heart condition may be changed. For your eternal salvation it is important your heart become warm. A cold heart is a walking dead heart. You may wonder how someone kills another? A cold heart. Remember, you are no different than another. If your heart is cold, there is nothing evil you cannot do. Get a warm heart today.

  1. Outstanding post…I found myself nodding through the whole thing. That is the challenge for us…to present God’s truth and not care what the world’s opinion is. Even if 1 person’s life has been changed by what we say, it has all been worth it!!!

I just had a conversation via email about this topic.
Keep God’s objective first. Seek His will and what ever compensation is due- God is not unjust. He always goes above and beyond. He sees the sacrifices that are made for his GLORY

  3. “A cold heart is the result of being a lone ranger.”

    Like John the Baptist?

One has to wonder how his heart was kept from going cold (notice the wording). Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it wasn’t easy. He had to cling much harder to the Lord than most even know how to do. And I’m sure there were many times when he wished he could follow your advice, step in from the empty cold, and experience that love from fellow believers. But he had a calling, he answered it (even at the risk of a cold heart) and recognized that a brood of vipers probably didn’t have much to offer.

Again, don’t get me wrong: fellowship is better. How I have yearned for it! The only problem is finding a church such as the one you described. All I seem to find are Christian zombies, whom have every appearance of life, until you demonstrate that same life within you. (zombies, it would seem, hate the living). They perform their weekly ritualistic acts, talk about loving and serving God (while demonstrating a complete opposite the other six days of the week), all while judging everyone around them as they follow their mad practice of bibliolatry.

Today’s church does more to produce a cold heart in me than any pagan I have ever encountered. And although I am currently called to serve in a church, wrestling with the masses comprising the Dead Sea, I am finding it to be a harsher challenge than any of the numerous years I spent out in the wild.

    • John the Baptist was no lone ranger. John the Baptist had disciples. John the Baptist also received word from his disciples concerning Christ when he began to doubt. His heart began the process of growing cold when word from his disciples encouraged his resolve.

A man that has friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).

Be encouraged! Your years “in the wild” appear better, because the devil does not fight his children. Christians are fighting against supernatural principalities, not flesh and blood.

    • So true. This has caused me to fellowship with them but not be consumed by them because I have a calling most of them don’t understand.

  4. Love your candid attitude. Good message!
    Thanks!

  5. Whilst I believe what you are saying to be true it is not the experience of everyone. I left my church 13 years ago and have gone from strength to strength in my walk with God. I have never been cold-hearted since the day I became a Christian 25 years ago and I study Scripture more now than I ever did. I love my God and my only will is to serve Him by the way I live and that means following Jesus and doing as he taught. It isn’t just an obligation to serve the Lord, it is a privilege and a desire. I was told by my fellowship that I needed to stay in a church and for all the reasons you say but in actual fact I have grown stronger.

    • Jesus taught us not to forsake the assembling together. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister (1 John 4:20). How can you love your brother and sister and not spend anytime fellowshipping with them?

This does not negate private prayer, private fasting, privately reading the word, and privately fighting the flesh, only to add to it. The first commandment is between God and the person, which is to love him. The second is to love our neighbor. The true expression of love is found in fellowship.

This does not overlook the fact that bad fellowship exists. The church of Jesus Christ is filled with wolves hiding in the clothing of sheep. As a true believer in Jesus the voice heard should lead to the correct sheep. I assure you, God has others and you are not alone in desiring to follow Christ.

  6. This is a comment to the admin. I came to your “COLD HEART | Roger Tharpe” page via Google but it was hard to find as you were not on the first page of search results. I know you could have more visitors to your website. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your rankings and traffic to your website: http://seoaccelerator.net/order/ I managed to get close to 1000 visitors/day using their services, you could also get lot more targeted traffic from search engines than you have now. Their service brought significantly more traffic to my site. I hope this helps, happy new year!
