Ted Cummins, 50, vanished with former student Elizabeth Thomas, 15, in March. The pair were spotted on Wednesday by the caretaker of a cabin they were in and he alerted police. They had traveled from Tennessee to northernmost California in that period. After cops arrested Cummins he said he was ‘glad this is over.’ Cummins had a pair of handguns in the cabin but he gave himself up peacefully. Thomas was well, police said, and is flying back to her home overnight. Cummins has been charged with state and federal sex and kidnapping crimes.
