Woman convicted of pushing husband from window of Oklahoma high-rise was found dead in jail cell


Amber Hilberling, the woman convicted of pushing her husband out of the window of a Tulsa, Oklahoma, high rise, has died in prison, officials confirm. She was pronounced dead at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday, a prison spokesman said. The Department of Corrections Inspector General is investigating her death Hilberling was convicted of second-degree murder in 2013. She pushed her husband Josh out of a 17th story window during a fight in July 2011.

Hilberling was convicted in April 2013. Hilberling was 7 months pregnant when she pushed her husband, an Air Force veteran. Authorities said the pair were fighting when she pushed him. She said she was pushing him in self defense and that she didn’t mean to push him out of the window, but that the glass was too thin.

Josh’s family said he called them that day and was planning to leave Amber. She was serving a 25-year sentence at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud.
