There is not a man or woman alive without sin. Even when the light of God’s glorious gospel shines on you, within your flesh dwells no good thing. Paul stated “Oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death.” He hated the fact that though he pursued God that evil was always present. Not being dismayed by this; he put his trust in Christ and pressed toward the high mark of God’s call. He worked for his eternal net worth. I say net, because at judgment we will all have things that will be consumed in the fire when God is handing out his rewards.
We all know about worldly success. A recent report came out that said the U.S. added 300,000 new millionaires in 2015, bringing the total to a record 10.4 million people. Of course, a large percentage of these people could be tied to acquiring their wealth by way of sin. Fraud, porn stars, strippers, reality tv stars promoting sinful lifestyles, musicians doing the same thing, along with athletes who cheat by taking drugs, along with straight up stealing it. This wealth will work to harm them when they die and face God’s judgment, because many of these people helped others to fall into sin by their sinful leadership. If you have acquired it the right way, then God has given you ten talents and you used them the right way by increasing them and you are on your way to even greater wealth in heaven. Of course, this is only one way to earn huge amounts for your eternal net worth. The other way is the most painful on earth and that is through martyrdom. God has appointed some for this way of glorifying him. Not as glorious as the millionaire Christian who God has blessed on earth, but they will receive a greater reward then them in heaven.
It is important that you have a mindset that everything you do will either work toward or against your eternal net worth. Similar to planning for retirement on earth and getting your house in order, you must have a specific mindset and plan to increase your eternal net worth. Paul said that one way is through giving your money to a church, that promotes Jesus as the only way and a lifestyle that God honors and giving to the poor. This adds to your heavenly account. When you are doing what your supposed to do at your job, when no one is looking, this adds to your account. Now recently for some this can be tricky, but God knows those who are his and if you are honoring him in what you do. Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and praying for people and even casting out their demons and fasting for them will add to your eternal net worth. The mindset of adding to your eternal net worth is safe and should be the overarching goal. Why? Because in time you will perish and not have the ability to walk around using any of the earthly money you have earned.
It will be a sad day for you, if you do not go to the ant and consider her ways and be wise by providing your meat in the summer.
