  13. Hi! I’m a student at Liberty as well. I love it! Thanks for subscribing to my blog!

  14. No I didn’t. Did you? I plan on going one day!

    • Yes I did. It was an amazing experience. Really the information I learned through the learning tracks and the constant praise and worship was valuable. Those who were current counselors got credit for their license. I am not a counselor, but my Masters of Divinity is in pastoral counseling.

  15. Roger,

Thanks for checking out my blog. I plan to follow yours as well.

  16. Thanks! It’s always interesting to read about other bloggers.

  24. Good luck in your journey and with your book! Stay in touch!

  25. Journey through the Desert, what a book that will be! Life is a journey and yes sometimes it takes us through the desert. You know, God did not intend for us to live in the wilderness but HE called us to the land flowing with milk and honey and all good things for which we did not plant or work to get. God calls us to climb a mountain, because HE desires to meet with us at the mountain top. God calls us through the valley, where HE promises to prepare a table to dine in peace, in satisfaction, before our enemy.

Thanks for following along with Shadows of Love. I am looking forward to seeing you there often and following your Journey through the Desert.

    • Sounds like a great plan. In the meantime, as man born of woman is few days old and full of trouble, we have Christ the Savior, to lead and guide us, until the time he arrives in the air, to carry his children to streets of gold and a mansion on high.

  26. Hi Roger, thank you for the follow! :) I pray that the dreams God has put in your heart will come to pass! God bless~

  27. Hi Roger,

  28. Hey Roger. Let me know what you think about the articles about the New christian Unity Movement.

    Dr J.D. Diamond

    http://www.thechristianunitymovement.com/

    • Unity in Christ is always a good thing. Keep in mind the differing administrations is God’s idea. Let love abound, but the differing administrations purpose is to reach all differing nations within the world, you’re approach may work for some in your cultural setting and demographic and in another you will not be heard. Some thoughts concerning unity.

Thanks a lot, Roger, a Christian brother, for following my blog.

Usually, in http://peacecrusader888.wordpress.com is where I usually put what I heard and learned from the Holy Spirit, plus my other ideas, in English. Two other webpages contain the transcription of what the Holy Spirit said in the Filipino language.

Religious affiliation cannot guarantee to save a person from the fires of Hell. It is His faith in the true God and his works that can. I found the true God to be Jesus Christ. So I suggest that when you come out of the seminary, don’t preach that one should belong to a particular religion only. Pick out what will be good for your soul from various religions and discard what is evil.

The true God bless us now and always.

With love, your brother in Jesus,
    Aristeo Canlas Fernando

    • It has been noted. You may or may not be surprised to know that many churches in America are lead by none seminary graduates. The division that takes place has a two fold purpose, one being different gifts and responsibilities to reach differing people. Peter to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles as an example. Second it works as a checks and balance system. Imagine for a moment the military as one central military, lets remove the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and unite them under, say United Military of America (UMA). The General in charge of this operation would be so powerful that if he decided to overthrow the government or attack a small country to impress his wife, he could not be stopped. Remember, all things are in Gods control and nothing that happens today is outside his sovereignty.

  44. I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award, go to my recent post for the guidelines on how to accept the award.

  51. Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog and for following it. The Narrow Path is very new, and I thank the Lord for every Christian he brings to it.

  52. Roger, Thanks for following my blog. I hope you find some helpful things in it. It is mostly excerpts from books I have written, but once in a while I will comment on a book I have read or a Bible passage. Good luck on your book. I hope you enjoy writing it and will find God’s hand in it–I think that is especially important for a Christian writer. The fact that God is inspiring you will give you all the encouragement you need to finish the writing. My prayers are with you.

  53. Hi Roger, thank you so much for reading my blog, the invisible church, I pray that the Lord bless the work of your hands and above all that the desire of heart will be fulfilled I love the scripture that says He gives you the desire of your heart, first He places that desire in us and then goes right ahead and brings it to pass for us, so take courage brother he will fulfill that desire within you. Be blessed and know that I’m praying for your success.

  54. Hi Roger, thank you so much for reading my blog, I pray that the Lord will fulfill the desire of your heart, I love what He said: He gives you the desire of your heart, well the desire in your heart He has placed there, now watch how He brings that desire to pass in you life, isn’t He just to good and so true. You have a blessed day and trust we will continue to communicate into eternity.

  73. “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
    ~Eleanor Roosevelt~

  84. I want to clarify because it seems you follow a different path than I. Although I was born into and raised as a Roman Catholic and do believe in spirituality, I have distanced myself from religion and the church because religion is so divisive and the source of so much shame in this world. I do not mean to insult you; I do mean to clarify that I have come to believe that religion is archaic, man-made and was created as a way to understand things when there was less understanding of science. I am currently reading The End of Faith by Sam Harris and find this far more enlightening than any religion. The main problem I’ve always had revolves around the “chosen”. I was born RC and “chosen”, which means anybody who is not RC is not chosen. Yet each religion believes the same thing. Followers are the chosen ones relative to their religion. Does that really make sense? Again, I don’t want to rain on any parade, but it’s time our world began to look at how religion creates division rather than unity under a common denominator: being human. In The Perfect Love Story, no he should not have married her. He should have married someone he could accept and not “change”. Why is she a villain but not he? (It is perhaps because lines have been drawn in the sand.)

    • I am overjoyed that you would spend time sharing your position concerning our differing paths and some background from which you have came, but I would like to clarify the difference between religion and relationship. Religion is the belief in someone or something whether it is yourself or Jesus. Human nature is the cause of division. Christianity teaches a person to not only to love God and their neighbor, but also their enemy, the problem is those who choose the title Christian is not always Christians. I run into many people from differing faith groups who say I am this or that and yet their life is unaffected by what their mouth speak. Whites in the past have used scriptural references concerning slaves to keep blacks enslaved using scripture, never taking into account the command to love. The Bible mentions that love covers a multitude of sins. Love never fails and God is love. The amount of commands to love in the Bible makes one wonder why there is so much dysfunction and hate. Let’s move to relationship.

Dictionary.com references relationship to mean a connection, association, or involvement. 2. connection between persons by blood or marriage. This is interesting because I am saved because of the blood of Jesus Christ physically dying on the cross for me. He has given me his Holy Spirit and promised me life after death because of what he has done. My relationship with him saves me. At this point if you’re reading this you’re cringing, but bear with me a moment. I have begun a relationship with you because I have read your text and though I have not seen or heard you, the message you have written still affects me. This is relationship and not religion. The reason religion has existed from the beginning until now has nothing to do with science it is relationship. That is why no amount of science or technology will ever replace it. If it were possible then relationships would also cease to exist. Why? It is because before humans existed God had a relationship with the Son and Holy Spirit. He also had a relationship with the angels. You can remove the word religion, but it will always be the relationship you’re in that determines your power. In the supernatural a relationship with Jesus grants access to heaven, not works lest a man/woman boast of what they have done. In the natural, a relationship with Kim Kardashian could put you in the papers and make you famous.

A small note concerning the seemingly depicted villain in the story could it be, that this woman in the story is actually the damsel in distress awaiting for her knight in shining armor to be the catalyst that God uses to bring her into a relationship with him?

But it is not ours to understand…..

Anyway, I wanted to get permission to use some of your blogs as “guest blogs” on my blog. http://heavenlyramblings.wordpress.com I would love to bring some of your insights to my readers and possibly bring you some more traffic!

A significant task indeed :) … Thanks for following my blog.

  111. Looking at all those beautiful photo’s I started wondering if you are not the Roger Tharpe I got to know in the 1970ies at the Festival of Modern Dance and the many International Dance Courses in Köln (Cologne)?
(Some of the photo’s I seem to recollect from my years on stage, and I can remember from the many international dance magazines. Can it be?)

    • The 1970’s would be ahead of my time, but I have taken Salsa in the past (2006). I seem to like the art of dance. The dedication and work that goes into a small production reminds me that all of life’s greatest accomplishments are found when those within their duty, work diligently in secret, that when once it becomes visible the canvas is ever pretty.

  112. The night after I wrote my comment I recollected my memories and came to the conclusion it must have been a Jonathan Tharpe. (Sorry for the mistake.) Probably it is even not family of you, being Tharpe a more frequent name.) But that doe not change me liking the photographs. :)
I do wish you success in reaching people, getting them to know God, and giving them some solutions to arrange their way of living according the likeness of God.

  113. Hello Roger! Thank you so much for following my blog and thank you for creating one of your own! It’s a blessing to find another lover of Christ, one who desires to share the good news and to do so with love. I pray God’s continued blessings for you and I hope to see you again. Thanks once again and keep pressing! :)

    God Bless,
    Rebecca

  114. Roger, you may recall from that post that I’m taking a breather until Jan. Why? The Lord is healing my soul (through MTS – http://www.mendingthesoul.org). I mention this to you because MTS and the knowledge of MTS should be part of every pastor’s toolbox. Please scroll down to the end of my Feb 12 archive and you will see me during my Drill Sergeant days – thank you for your service, Sir! I’m too busy with MTS right now, but I’m putting your book on deck and will get back to you later on that. As an aside, and probably to wordy for a comment – As a pastor, I hope you see what I see when I look out at a congregation. I see “fire teams.” The husband and wife, the family are the fire teams of the church; they are the smallest fighing unit of the church. The church starts and builds on them. The health of the church is dependent on the health of its smallest but most powerful unit. (Even Satan knows this; that is why he continues to try and destroy the church, the family from within, e.g., abuse, addiction, neglect, codependency, etc.) “Feed my sheep” is a mandate to preach the gospel of Grace, not the Law, so that God’s people are healthy and whole. (For example, how on earth can a wife whose been abused by her husband, a deacon, believe that she is “holy and blameless in God’s sight” unless she is healed, and the pastor in ignorance stops defending his deacon?) Praise God that the church will be brought into “complete unity” according to God’s plan and not our own (as Jesus prayed in John 17). God is faithful. (I got carried away because I’m excited about what you are doing and what God is doing in your life. Carry on, Sir, feed God’s sheep!)

  115. Roger, I am always encouraged when I have found a new friend who shares my love for God and Jesus and who is reaching out to touch the lives of others. Blessings to you.

  143. Hi Roger, Although I don’t tend to blog about faith that often, I am glad you took the time to check me out. I will pontificate on my awesome church (Elevation) occasionally though! Keep up the blogging!

  145. Hello, my friend Roger, you have a nice blog up here. Well done! :-) Keep illuminating light with your blog, my friend, you will do wonders and help a lot of people, I am sure :-)

I would like to kindly thank you. It is my mission to serve humanity through the written word. It is my aim to illuminate the World with my Light of Love. To do so, I write inspirational poetry and short stories and post them every Thursday. Please feel free to visit if you feel like inspiration. Take care and may the Light of Love perpetually shine in your heart, my friend. ♥

  146. That’s what the Bible is – a compilation of stories about God and people. Actually, that’s what life is! I love to watch His Story unfold all around me.

If there’s anything there you can use on my blog, feel free to do so…”Freely you have received, freely give.” :) May God bless you as you seek to make Him known.

  162. ‘Shared by all’–that’s the ultimate Christian statement, if you ask me: to be unconditional in our love, as we are loved unconditionally.

  163. Roger, I’ll be visiting here to get more familiar and catch up with your blog. Nice meeting you.

  164. Hi Roger, I’ve enjoyed reading several of your posts. Keep up the great work and God bless!

  165. Thanks. I hope to see you around!

  166. I like to think of religion as a hammer :you can use it to build a beautiful boat to cross the ocean of life or smash people’s heads in with : your obviously of the smashing people’s head in type. Who knows ..one day you might start building boats .

    • There is pure religion and impure religion. You have been affected by the dominate impure religion. Pure religion is so foreign and rare to you, it becomes difficult to identify. Do not forget they murdered my Savior. Jesus Christ was placed upon the cross. As perfect as this man was, he was killed, would I not receive the same hate being his Son?

  167. God bless you in your studies.

  168. I’m looking forward to getting to know you. Blessings, Natalie :)

  169. You have some interesting articles here, Roger. Keep on telling the truth :)

  170. You have many inspirational words =)
