A man who tried to steal $7 billion said it was because Jesus wanted him to be rich.
John Michael Haskew of Lakeland, Florida, said the Lord was on his side when he fraudulently transferred $7 billion in over 70 wire transfers on December 9 and 10 from a bank only identified in documents as Bank A, according to WFTV.
He then called upon a higher power for his defense.
When asked why he’d made the transfers, authorities said he stated, ‘That Jesus Christ created wealth for everyone. Using this scheme, Haskew believed that he could obtain the wealth that Jesus Christ created for him and that belonged to him,’ according to the criminal complaint.
As part of a plea deal, he pleaded guilty to one count of making a false statement to the federal government on Thursday.
He could serve up to five years in prison and get slapped with a $250,000 fine. Read more
How White Christians Are Harming Christianity?
When you have pastors talking about the transfer of wealth from the wicked they make it appear that God has promised a second promise land. The wealth that is laid up for the righteous is found in heaven. You must die to the wealth. Herein we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Jesus taught us to build our treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust may corrupt.
Clearly, this man is not a Christian, but how many will believe he is because he mentions a name of a man he does not know?
Your body comes with a predisposition for sinning. The fall in the Garden of Eden ruined the original genetic code for mankind. Sin corrupted the bloodline. Now running through your flesh is a demonic code that can only be eradicated by a new blood line, by faith through Jesus Christ. Once you receive the Savior, which is Christ the Lord, you still live in the old bloodline. Spiritually, you have been made new, hence a desire to live for Jesus and the awareness of heaven and hell. Unfortunately, death is inevitable as God specifically told Adam the tree in the midst of the garden would kill him, if he chose to eat of the fruit of that tree. He chose to eat the fruit of that tree.
Paul, comes along after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and tells us to “fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12). This is the only prescription we have to ensure our salvation. Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed–not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence–continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
The wrath of God is coming on the children of disobedience. We cannot win against our flesh without a direct assault against our flesh by spending time soaking in the presence of God and being busy doing the Fathers business. Being saved is work. Making sure you make it to the end is going to be difficult.
Jesus said to another man, “Follow Me.” “Lord,” the man replied, “first let me go and bury my father.” But Jesus told him, “Let the dead bury their own dead. You, however, go and proclaim the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:59-60). Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). These are statements that build the foundation for the cost of being a Christian in a fallen world.
There are Christians who run from bad news to their own peril and the peril of others. They are like those who hide their head in the sand or their talent and think that God is going to be pleased, but they are mistaken. Many will hear depart from me you worker of iniquity for not working at all in God’s kingdom. They bury their talent and when the master comes for the harvest he finds them lacking.
The terror of men and the high intensity of evil will cause your flesh to fold, but through God’s Spirit within you, you have the strength to overcome the challenges that would otherwise limit you. The evil spirit of limitation is empowered by your fear to confront bad news. Your cowardice is his elevation, but if you look deep into the love of God, you will find a power that will blow all evil spirits out of the water.
By design those who have God’s Spirit overcome evil with good. God never sanctioned the believer to run, but serve with gladness knowing that your home is in heaven. Fear is a designation that you are lacking in faith and your heart is not entirely above, but beneath.
Before the test of Lot’s wife comes, you better sure up your relationship with Jesus and stop running from bad news and make good news by telling your story of how God as empowered your life by his grace, mercy, and truth.
It is common sense that different answers to why men exist and their purpose cannot all be right. There is only one answer that is right and all the others are simply wrong. Prophecies were made that Hillary would win and other prophecies that the world would end. We have prophecies of global flooding and imaginations of an asteroid destroying all life on earth. These prophecies have come and gone and some have been renewed. Do you remember Y2K or 2012 Mayan prophecy? What about the statements on blacks having lowering IQ’s and yet a black men succeeds first name Ben Carson is separating twins. All while fighting against a system that would rather see him imprisoned. You seen the nasty tweets about him.
The world is full of con artist, tricksters, and flat out liars. Some do it ignorantly, others maliciously and yet others like many global warming researchers simply do it for money. Much of the con jobs are done for the purposes of making money. That is why God said, you could not serve him and money.
So why do humans exist and what is their purpose. Its simplicity baffles Richard Dawkins, but this should not come to any surprise, for God has used the foolish things to confound the wise. The answer is simple. God created humans for the express purpose of those same humans giving him worship. It pleases God to see his creation glorify him. The only way to glorify him is through His Son Jesus. Jesus is the door that gives access to all of heavens best.
Repent of sin and give your entire life to Jesus and he will make sure that your existence will be defined by love, peace, and joy.

In the information age there is a temptation to gather various data concerning all sorts of things and I would encourage exploration, but never lose sight of the words of Solomon. “The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd. But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person” (Ecclesiastes 12:11-13).
Learning things outside the Bible is a must if we are going to earn a living and contribute to our families by making money and teaching them how to interact in the world in which we live, but every pursuit should have God in mind. We should be most concerned about what he thinks and desires. He created us and not the other way around. It is in God’s love that he desires our prosperity and enjoys our praise and worship. Never forget that Jesus died on the cross for our salvation. His death was the payment for our sin and we inherit salvation when we repent and believe in the work that Jesus did on the cross for us. If we refuse the gift of Jesus Christ we will inherit damnation and no amount of self-help books or the power of positive thinking will help you.
In all your pursuits remember it is Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life. If you ever lose sight of him, you lose sight of everything that will matter when you pass from this life unto the next.
