Are you guilty of blaming everything on your mental status? ADD? ADHD? DEPRESSION? Why does the media push mental disorder as the cause of every tragic event? A man kills his girlfriend in a fit of rage and immediately the reason is some sort of mental disorder or drug addiction. A boy or girl struggles in school and immediately labeled with ADD/ADHD? Why is this happening?
Labels are easy. Change is not. Writing another prescription is easy. Therapy is not. There is nothing inherently wrong with labels or taking medicine, but are we labeling and writing the correct prescription? Evidently not with suicide increasing as well as murders.
Could there be another reason? Look at what the Lord sends: curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking him. (Deuteronomy 28:20).
Amazingly, God sends confusion. A confused person is a dangerous person. When armies came against King Jehosophat in the Bible, God gave them confusion, so that the armies fought each other. These armies destroyed one another and King Jehosophat did not have to lift a finger. The reason the armies where confused is because they were ungodly. No ADD/ADHD! No DEPRESSION! No DISORDER! Their problem was SIN. Their problem was God sending the confusion.
There is a cure. Humble yourself before the Lord and he will heal the land. We often forget that SIN causes God’s judgment. The main reason is because his judgment is slow and progressive. An example would be sexually transmitted diseases. We know fornication, adultery and homosexuality is a SIN. STD’s are the judgment. The mortality rates of these diseases are long? It gives the victim plenty of time to change. Man has come up with some cures for some and medication for others. Unfortunately, this only fuels SIN. The cute commercial that comes on with an attractive girl with Gonorrhea leaves you feeling like its no big deal and you continue living the same. What happens? AID’s becomes an epidemic and 820,000 people in the US get new gonorrhea infections. This is just one example of many.
Take Home Message
Call on the Lord and refrain from sin. God protects and gives wisdom to those who ask and are obedient. Forsake him and your life, one way or another, will come to ruin.

This is for all those Christian Soldiers that our Commander and Chief, Jesus Christ, left behind to do His work until he returns to take us home and make this world like heaven. He said that He will never leave us or forsake us. He told His disciples and us that He would send the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) to give us power to do whatever He commanded us to do. Whatever our situation is, in this life, whether good or bad our Commander and Chief by the power of the Holy Spirit is right there with us guaranteeing our success. Remember, when the pressure of life comes crashing down upon us our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said that we are more than conquerors in Him. I have to go because our Commander and Chief is calling me, but remember, Onward Christian Soldier!!!

Are you hiding from the world? Are you sitting back and waiting to see what will happen? Are you hoping to escape this planet through excessive use of romance novels or television? Are you waiting for your spouse to change before you do? Do you blame any and everything else for your problems or grief?
If you are guilty of any of these cheer up. There is a solution that I believe is helpful. The problem you face is central to living on planet earth. Welcome! Your arrival to planet earth was not your choice and many things you will face will be the same. Let me take your cloak and have a seat, as I share what things you will find on earth. I want your expectations to be proper and your solutions to be singular.
You will find immediately that all your desires will not be fulfilled in the time you desire. If you’re older than a week, you have already experienced this and have shed the accompanying tears. If you’re older than two years old you have displayed anger toward the guardian, parent or parents the Lord has provided. If you’re a tween or teen your girlfriend or boyfriend has disappointed you either by unfaithfulness or simply neglect. If you’re an adult you have been burned by various stimuli that has either made you fearful, bitter, or grateful.
Your introduction to the world is your introduction to sin. Sin is the breaking of God’s commands that produce in everyone’s life either immediate or future pain. If we desire our own way at the expense of God’s way, we commit sin. Do not be deceived your sin affects others. Even those you may never know. Need an example? Pornography. Sin is the reason we have lockers with locks. Locks and alarms on our home, car, shed, mailbox, and fence to name a few. This alone is enough to cause acute stress. So why should I cheer up?
If you’re cloak is still off and you’re securely fastened within your love seat. Let me share with you some love. God wants you to acknowledge him in all your ways. Notice I used the word ALL. That means everything you do. Everything! Are you purchasing a home? Acknowledge him. Purchasing a wife? Acknowledge him. Women, if he cannot purchase the marriage certificate, I am telling you he is not ready. Are you taking out a second mortgage? Acknowledge him. Are you getting a dog? Acknowledge him. If you are unwilling to acknowledge him in all things, then do not be surprised by your bad decisions.
Sin will always exist while the earth stands until Christ returns. What makes the passage easier is acknowledging God in all our ways. This gives understanding to the words of Jesus when he mentions that his burden is light and his yoke is easy.
You do not have to solely rest upon your wisdom, but have access to his.
Now that the election has been closed and a new chapter is beginning let us focus more upon the reaction God has with his people and that is to love him and our neighbor. We can be pleased to know that God’s position has not changed concerning sin and his position for us to pray for our leaders and this nation.
Love’s greatest expression is found in the testing soil of disagreement and division. Jesus while upon the cross, expressed this, when he said, “forgive them for they know not what they do.” Beaten and bruised Jesus demonstrated a response that gendered love.
Love is such a precious gift that when given to our neighbor can produce a magnificent power unlike any power on earth. Love never fails. Love is not prideful or boastful, rather giving until the bitter end so that all that may be used for God’s glory may be expressed.
I wished I heard that the things you desire now will change, so consider you’re choices carefully. I wished I heard that money is fleeting and you should save a little money every time you make some. I wished I heard that interest will destroy your net worth and it is important to pay for things in cash. I wished I heard that behind every business is an individual and they should be treated as such and make sure what I am borrowing I am able to pay this individual back. I wish I heard that your house mortgage expenses only rise, no matter the fixed rate, as taxes change. I wish I heard that giving some earned income to charity is important. I wished I heard that dating multiple partners in school is nonproductive. I wished I heard that girls are the weaker vessel and should be treated like princesses. I wished I heard that my negative actions affect others in ways I may never know. I wished I heard that each individual is gifted in certain areas for a particular purpose. Although, I may have not received what I believe I should have in school, at home I received some valuable things.
I am glad I heard that I was created in the image of God. I am glad I heard that the Bible contains all the wisdom I need to live a life pleasing to my creator. I am glad I heard that God created me for himself. I am glad to have learned that my worth is in Jesus and no matter my opposition he still loves me. I am glad to have made a friend in high places. I am glad to receive the grace of God. I am glad to have been told that when I am afraid, I may trust in him.
