Put Light On It

Some people distort the idea of being positive by being living a lie, medicating through drugs and alcohol, living in denial or speaking straight up lies. This is not being positive it is ignoring issues that later grow into either suicide or a perpetual state of deep depression.  Being positive doesn’t feed the poor, or put clothes on the needy or give shelter to those without money. Speaking positively or hearing a thousand prosperity messages does not make you prosperous. Living in the truth of God’s word makes you prosperous. Understanding God’s real plan for the life of a Christian as defined within the pages of Scripture.

How do you measure your success? How do you measure beauty? Does your standard fit God’s word or the world’s view? Are you a Christian parent and use money as the litmus test for your children’s success or their relationship with Jesus. Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him (James 2:5)? Do you run from bad news or do you become the peacemaker? Are you salt and light? The only way to be salt and light is to be in a situation that is without it.

Does the subject of racism bother you? What is your response? Ignore it or do you put light on it. Only thing that is brought to the light can be discovered and cleansed. The dentist puts a light on your teeth, so that he can fix them. Your teeth live in darkness mostly and all kinds of things happen, but the only way a cavity is fixed is by putting light on it.

Christians must put a light on it. Show people another way. Don’t run from bad news. Run toward it. We are the salt of the earth, but if our flavor has been removed, we have become good for nothing. Time wasters that God will most certainly cast to hell. God does not suggest that we bear good fruit. It is a command. Go and put light on the darkness.

Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Christianity, Christianity For Seekers
Are you afraid of the dark? You should be. There are things in the darkness that desire to kill you. Darkness overshadows the light and drains the life out of its subjects. You may have heard that heaven and God is full of light. The reason for this is simple. Light gives life. Light gives vision. Light gives direction.

Hell is full of darkness. Hell impedes vision. Hell creates confusion. Hell is in direct opposition to light. Hell is for those who love darkness.

Before you run from this blog understand that darkness has power and the fear of the Lord is wisdom. I said, what may seem strange to some that one should be afraid of the dark and you may say, but the Bible says fear not.

Unfounded fear should never be a Christian’s disposition.  Unfounded fear is fear that God will abandon and forsake you. Unfounded fear is man’s ability to separate you from God. Unfounded fear is the devils ability to overcome the Holy Spirit.

Founded fear should be a Christian’s disposition. Fearing God’s ability to cast your soul into hell. Fearing God’s wrath to those who disobey and curse him in unbelief and action. Fearing God is just plain smart. He alone has the ability to save you.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous (Psalm 19:9).

Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13).
