Your Affections Determine Your Altitude

For those desiring a greater intimacy with God we must determine to set our affections on things above. Affections is a state of mind or body that is often associated with a feeling of love. God wants to feel our love. The church in Ephesus did not grow weary, they persevered and endured many things for the Lord. But I have this against you: You have abandoned your first love. It is similar to marital intimacy, when the spouse provides financially, takes care of the house by cutting the grass and fixing the appliances, but fails to send time with his wife. God wants our time. God wants our worship.

God wants you thinking about him often and making your rising and closing about Him. Remember, God is a jealous God. He wants your entire heart. God is also above and not below. So when our affections are set on things above, God responds with elevating our rank in Him.

The reason few find eternal life is because there are so many distractions and God is invisible. It would be easier to follow a God you can see, but since following God requires faith, we must choose to follow God and make our heart love Him. Listen to Paul. He says, “I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize” (1 Corinthians 9:27).

Being a Christian is no easy work. Similar to having a successful and rich marriage. It requires submission. There are times in your marriage you when would rather choose another way, but if you are going to enjoy all of the richness that may be found in marriage you will have to choose to never defraud the other of sexual pleasure, even when you feel another emotion.

So, if you are low in God and your prayers appear flat or heaven appears to be closed. Check your level of affection and its object. Are your affections on the Lord? Do you need to repent? If so, repent. Set your affections on things above and not on things on the earth.

Don’t Mix Movie Preachers With the Teaching of Jesus Christ

It has come to my attention that men should fear aliens, meteors, global warming, demons, fallen angels, and stock market crashes, but no one is saying anything about fearing God. Why? Did God not say, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

Do not mix the movie preachers with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Fearing God is the beginning of wisdom and the beginning of knowledge. Fearing God is the most healthy thing an inhabitant of God’s earth can do.

When is the last time you seen a movie where God killed people? Should I fear Thanos from Avengers, when He requires stones that God created? Should I fear, the white man’s nuclear weapons, when God can stand on the Sun or eat it like a tic-tac, if He chose to do so. The earth is the Lord’s footstool. Be wise, servants of the most high and remember that fearing God is the best position.

Interracial Church of Jesus Christ: Practice Hiding

Interracial Marriage

What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” “Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:16-18).

Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourselves a little while until the wrath has passed. For behold, the LORD is coming out of His dwelling to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal her bloodshed and will no longer conceal her slain (Isaiah 26:20-21).

There is power in hiding. There is…

Interracial Church of Jesus Christ: Securing Your Future

Interracial Marriage

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always continue in the fear of the LORD. For surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Listen, my son, and be wise, and guide your heart on the right course (Proverbs 23:17-19).

When you choose to fear the Lord, you have entered a wisdom and knowledge that will protect you from any lasting danger. When you fear the Lord, God will become your protector and will watch over your soul and guide you. God will avail you of His Spirit and he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.

Those who mock the Lord and spur His word will be punished and without repentance will lose their soul for eternity, but those who fear the Lord are wise. People who fear the Lord, understand their position and acquire for themselves secrets that the…

“Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time. And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him in His heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—every man and beast and crawling creature and bird of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them” (Genesis 6:5-7).

“So the LORD sent pestilence on Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men. God sent an angel to ravage Jerusalem. As he was doing so, the LORD watched and relented from his judgment. He told the angel who was destroying, “That’s enough! Stop now!” (1 Chronicles 21:14-15).

It is important to note that God hates sin and judges…
