There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is death (Proverbs 14:12). There is a way that appears wholesome and that spreads love, but it is actually hate. There is a way that appears like trust, but it is actually laziness and fear. The children of darkness are wiser than the children of light (Luke 16:8) because they don’t have an ungodly trust in God.
They take full responsibility for their success. They take full responsibility for their failure. They live completely in the world without trying to escape it. Many within the church have given up their responsibility and have placed it on God and they wonder why many of their prayers go unanswered. They say things like God will do this and God will do that and God will do that. God’s grace takes care of that and God’s mercy takes care of that. Then my question becomes, what do you do? Nothing?
Don’t stop with a salvation prayer and rest there. Its dangerous and extremely wasteful. As a Christian, we are no longer citizens of earth, but God has never given us permission to abdicate our responsibility to be salt and light with specific implications to change the world around us. This is something we choose, not God. Listen to the wisdom found in Psalms 37 and look at our responsibility that is listed first and then God acts.
- Do not worry (Psalm 37:1)
- Trust in the Lord, watch the conjunction, & DO GOOD (Psalm 37:3)
- Take delight in the Lord (Psalm 37:4)
- Commit your way to the Lord (Psalm 37:5)
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun (Psalm 37:6). It is your righteous reward because you are choosing to perform the righteous acts.
No matter how bad you want to leave this evil world or its political system, you should never believe that your presence is simply to go to work and die. You have a responsibility on earth and you should never forget that. You cannot get God, to do what He already said, you should, before He responds with a yes and Amen.
Evil people have their feet on the ground and as a Christian you should to. Its God’s responsibility alone to carry you to heaven. So, enjoy earth and be about the Father’s business. It is our responsibility to do so. Remember, it is the joy of the Lord that is our strength.
