Your life is a book filled with thousands of conversations with others. Every day you live you have conversations that will either add to your life or subtract. You will have conversations that bring joy and some that bring shame. You cannot live in this world and receive anything without first having a conversation. It is the most basic and complex form of life.
A relationship with Jesus requires a conversation. Before any change in conduct, you must have a conversation with him. You must confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you shall be saved. This conversation creates a relationship with Jesus. Like, the thieve on the cross, he had a conversation with Jesus and ended up in heaven with Jesus. He said, Lord remember me and Jesus said, today you will be with me in paradise. The thief then died and went to heaven.
When you interact with your family are you having Godly conversations that lead to righteous living? Are you speaking with your children about Jesus in their uprising and when they go to sleep? Are you directing them to Jesus when they find themselves in trouble? Are they being taught your dependency or dependency on Jesus? Are you surrounding them with conversations that bless them? Edify them?
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. – Deuteronomy 6:6-9
A simple conversation about Jesus with your family will create a natural conversation with others. A conversation that transfers from the family to friends. Fear is the number one reason that people don’t share Jesus, when the world shows you sin. If a friend is bold enough to ask you to smoke weed, you should be bold enough to share Jesus. After all, drugs ruins the mind, but God keeps you alert and aware. A simple conversation about Jesus is a natural volley. Someone passes you a question and you return the volley with Jesus. When you love God with all of your heart, mind & strength it will come out naturally.
Never forget the reason why this is so important. A person that has not heard the message about Jesus and dies in your care, will spend eternity in hell and their blood is on you. Everyone is called to preach (tell the good news) about Jesus. Take every opportunity to have a quick conversation about Jesus.
