An 18-year-old Long Island woman faces charges after making up a rape story that led to two football players withdrawing from their Connecticut college, authorities said Wednesday.
Nikki Yovino, of South Setauket, had claimed she was pulled into a bathroom by two Sacred Heart University students during an Oct. 14 football party in Bridgeport, Conn.
But during the investigation, students told police it appeared Yovino willingly went into the bathroom with the players, according to the Connecticut Post.
One student said he overheard the Suffolk County woman tell the men she wanted to have sex with them, according to an arrest warrant affidavit the newspaper obtained.
When pressed by cops with that information, Yovino allegedly acknowledged lying because of her romantic interest in another man.
“She admitted that she made up the allegation of sexual assault against (the football players) because it was the first thing that came to mind and she didn’t want to lose (another male student) as a friend and potential boyfriend,” read the affidavit obtained by the newspaper. “She stated that she believed when (the other male student) heard the allegation it would make him angry and sympathetic to her.”
This looks like old time white supremacy, however this happens to black men from black women as well. False reporting should be punished with jail time. Because these false claims especially ruin a black man’s future as a descendant of slavery.
It is my prayer that God avenge the falsely accused that are spending time behind bars today that are not guilty, but had no one speak up for them. They God would become their deliverer in Jesus name.
