Do not let love confuse you. Love covers a multitude of sins and love never fails, but love does not come without pain. There are some believers who tell you that if you love someone or tell someone about Jesus in a loving way, that somehow you will be received by everyone. This is not true.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is offensive to those who are perishing. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). We love people because we know how much God loves us. We love people because God forgave us of so many sins and it is his desire to have compassion on others who would receive him. We share the love of Jesus because of what Christ is/has done in our heart. We share the love of God because it is his command.
Prepare your heart to love your enemies, by pursuing Jesus. When someone attacks you and your family there is a natural desire to sin against them, but if you do, you impede God’s judgment on them. God will open doors that no man can shut and will close doors that no man can open. Trust him in your trial. The prophets enemies are the signposts that this person is a child of God. Never forget they “hated Jesus without a cause (John 15:25).” and because you are his servant they will hate you (John 15:20). Get excited! You are bearing the marks of Jesus Christ in your body and do you not think that God will not bless you? He comes quickly with his reward.
Rest in the Lord. Wait patiently for him. You will look up and your enemy will be no more.
