Christian Intermingle: Can We Date Outside the Faith?

13636-couple-woman-sad-turning-away-fight-wide.1200w.tnThe subject of dating outside the faith often comes up when someone has found an attractive nice person interested in yoking up. They entertain the idea that this nice person would make a great mate and so they go for it. If beauty was the ingredient for successful marriages than most marriages would be successful as most people marry those they find attractive.

So what is the admonition given to mankind concerning the yoking of unbelievers? “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:” (2 Corinthians 6:14). According to the scriptures there is no exception to this rule for obedient believers in Jesus.

It does not matter what this individual looks like, how they smell, or what money they possess. Save yourself by being obedient.

  1. I think sometimes people unyoke because they did not keep their eyes on God and the discipline required in marriage.

  2. I know, I know. You accept it until you find the nice guy, smart guy, handsome guy, respectful guy that just doesn’t believe in God but he likes you and trust me he is likeable. But, but he’s nice…not many Christian men around and they look over modest women, good women… 😦 just heard this conversation. But, the Bible is always right even when it hurts. 🙂

    • Indeed. Follow even when it hurts. Christian men do not overlook modest women. Lust driven so-called Christian men do. Make yourself available (he does not have to be black) I mean… just trust Jesus.

      • Lol. Yes, my friends and I plan to do that. We see our flaws in the matter. Color seriously doesn’t matter, never has and never will. My friend read your blog post on that matter. We laughed. Thank you so much…sure you don’t know us but do keep us in your prayers. hugs.hugs.hugs xxx 🙂

  3. If we have respect for one another’s convictions, Yes.

  4. It’s about renouncing hidden compromising desires of criteria for a mate (2 Corinthians 4:2). If the Spirit is with you even if someone has great natural qualities your spirit can’t settle with it. You walk with them only if deep down you agree with them (Amos 3:3).
