WHAT HAPPENED TO LOVE?

MLKjrDo you love me? Do you desire the best things in life to happen to me? Do you want to see me prosper? Are these questions making you uncomfortable? Why? When is the last time you put aside your pride and need to be above and not beneath to show love?

Not some anemic substandard love, the love that causes an inner movement. Not some ungodly lust, but your tongue filled with words that edify.

You have been hurt. I know. You have been lied to. You have been cast aside by someone in the church. You think because you have been hurt that closing the doors to love is the best policy. No, no. Not so.

There is nothing in life more precious than love. There is no greater power and motivation on earth. A man’s love for a woman can be so powerful that he will start a war with a nation. Ask Samson. So powerful that fear looks at it and fears. Love is relentless.

When executed properly it will destroy burdens and remove sickness. When executed properly, it will melt the hardest heart and break into tears the strong man.

God himself is love. You will never be more like God, then when you love your enemy as yourself. Remember, God rains on the just and unjust. The secret to having love is simple and hard. I have found that when I worship God in song DAILY, the anointing of God falls and empowers me to love others. It is only when God is the object of my affection that I will have the expression lived out in representation of my conversation.

Lovers Only

  1. In the Greek, the word Love is not just one word – I believe that this is part of the reason we can use it so flippantly today (myself included). The Agape love of God really does all those things that you mentioned and cannot be compared.

    • The difficulty with love is that it is not natural. We are born being served. We learn sometimes gently or sometimes harshly, that we are unable to receive all our desires. We learn to manipulate others to receive things we selfishly desire and then we get saved. Only loving ourselves we must now turn and love others. Family problems, marital problems, relationship problems are birthed out of selfish motives, not placing others before ourselves.

It is understandable, because it’s really not natural, but I have found there is a supernatural solution to this difficulty. I know immediately those who worship God in song daily and those who do not. Because God gives you the love required to love your enemy. God gives you the peace that passes understanding. A peace that does not make sense.

Try listening to my worship playlist in the morning or night before work by yourself and worship along – http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSWWUmNwhGvEWxrijrfrQuURRjhMm8Px5

I assure you the cloak will fall upon you gently and you will exude the plenary love to everyone. Keep in mind. The moment you stop the power stops. It must be done daily.

Ronnie Coleman is an 8 time Mr. Olympia winner and mentions that he diets 365 days a year. It looks like the whole year. It’s no wonder he has the most wins of any bodybuilder.

I say this, not just for you. For me and any who would read this comment.

      Thanks for your comment.

  2. Roger, “love your enemy as yourself” seriously, that’s shake and bake brother, consider listening to the following, it’s under an hour, and remember its not WE who are judging homosexuals, IT’S GOD! I’ve read some great stuff on your site. I’m just trying to help. http://chalcedon.edu/research/audio/?query=RR132A1.mp3

    • I have not listened to the audio, not sure I will and here is why. First thing, loving your enemy is Scriptural.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” – Matthew 5:43-48

      Second thing on judging.

“Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! – 1 Corinthians 6:2-3

Everything in my blog is Scripturally sound and if you deem otherwise, speak to me with Scripture.

I enjoyed this read! Keep up the good work.

  4. If I do not love my brother and sister as myself, how can I really love God, who beautifully created them all. God makes no mistakes in what is created, it is one of our worst flaws! God bless Roger!

    • Our love for God results in our love for our brother and sister. Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the FIRST and GREATEST commandment.” And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. – Matthew 22:37-40

If people did the first command the second will naturally follow. Everything starts with God and out from him flows life and love.

  5. P.S. but such a beautiful treasure when we enact that blessing to truly love without judging! Love will make every spirit prosper, and will multiply daily in the lives of many when shared with others!

  6. He that does not love does not know God, because God is love
