God’s Image

images-2
As the school bells of life ring on, remember now your creator. Your creator has made you special. He has fashioned you within the image of his mind and created you from the dust of the earth. God created humanity in God’s own image, in the divine image God created them, male and female God created them (Genesis 1:27). What a grand accomplishment the creator of heaven and earth has made. But something terrible happened. Man forgot their creator! All those who worship images, those who are proud of idols, are put to shame. All gods bow down to the Lord (Psalm 97:7)! The work accomplished by man has been put to shame. The hand placed in stocks has failed. The images they set up began to reveal a grave weakness. Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them (Ecclesiastes 12:1).” Remember him–before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7).

You are God’s creation. You did not create yourself and you work best in light of this knowledge. Everyone is working themselves into the grave, some are lazy, nevertheless everyone is going back to the dust and we should carefully consider our creator. Do not let the carnal images of the day rule you. Rule the images of the day by recalling your image, which is Christ the Lord.
