The Lord of Host takes seriously his children which labor in love and cry out to him. The Lord loves the poor and reminds us throughout scripture to remember them always. Jesus said, “the poor ye shall have with thee always.” This statement does not negate the responsibility the believer has of working toward ridding the world of poverty, but is a challenge to make it as minimal as possible.
James asks “the rich to weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon them. 2Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. 3Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. 4Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.”
When you cry out, make sure the Lord is the first recipient of your cry. He alone sets up a leader and removes another. Yes! He will use people to do all of his work, but work in your favor is directed by your acknowledgment and prayer to him. The Lord is your help and not the government. The Lord will place whomever the people cry for in office. The people in the Old Testament wanted Saul to be their king like the other nations and God told them he would enslave them and make them work for him and his kingdom, they cried to the Lord and God gave Samuel the commission to anoint Saul to become king and he did. The story goes on and Saul does exactly what God said he would do, which was to place the people in bondage. You hold the keys in your mouth and in your actions.
James continues saying to the rich “5You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6You have condemned and murdered the righteous person. He does not resist you.”
It is important that you remain patient in the process. Be patient until the coming of the Lord. The coming of the Lord is at hand. Remember do not grumble against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold the Judge (Jesus) is standing at the door.
*Note – God is responsible for working poor people, the Bible says wages, which are not received if you are not working. As an example, fraud would be McDonalds paying workers $6.00 dollars an hour when the company’s profit in 2009 is 1.26 billion and money given away freely to someone who will not work and is able to work, the Bible (2 Thessalonians 3:10) says “that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
Solution: Stop giving away free money to those who can work and choose to be lazy and will not work. Pay those who are working, more money, especially places like McDonalds, Target, Wal-Mart etc. It’s easy, if businesses cannot afford to increase the salary, which I highly doubt, have the government take the money they would use on welfare and add this to the worker at McDonalds. Everyone has their proper gift and we do not all have the same IQ do not punish those with lower IQ’s and this is not an insult, because I am among the lower IQ, this is simply a solution that has Biblical backing. This way more people will choose to work and with more working the economy grows as more spend. If I can receive more money sitting at home than working something is wrong (not including the retired population).
If this speaks to you or you have something to add to make this more plenary please comment.
