In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth[1]. From here God establishes time. The first day, second day, third day, fourth day, fifth day, sixth day and finally the seventh day and these repeat from the beginning until now. Time is used to establish kings and kingdoms. “TO EVERY thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; further defining found in Ecclesiastes 3:2-8.

The measurement of time never began with man because all things begin with God. Man may take what God gives and use it wickedly, but time is God’s idea.

We ask ourselves why God? Why give us time? David prays “Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is that I may know how frail I am.”[2] Paul tells timothy “the time of my departure (death) is at hand.”[3] Over and again TIME is referred to in the scriptures. The TIME for the birth of the Messiah and the TIME for his triumphant return and so it is with this I end.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season: reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the TIME will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;[4]

How do you know time is moving on? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
