A man just confessed to me that he is in love with someone who has turned his world upside down. This woman that he saw from a distance would soon become his wife. He knew from the moment his eye lids lifted that the vision before him was so stunning and so magnificent his lips began to quiver. I am telling you this woman reminded him of Eve in the garden, Samson’s Delilah, Abraham’s old attractive wife, and Jacob’s Rachel. If you recall Jacob within the pages of scripture he loved Rachel at first sight. This woman was equipped with all the bells and whistles of a 7 series BMW. She was in all practical terms the perfect woman. This man mutters some words only a gifted linguist can recognize and she still says yes to whatever he just said. Exchanging the proverbial number and parting ways this man overjoyed by the encounter goes to the mall to update his clothing.
Who would have guessed that the mall he chose and the time in which to go, this Rachel like woman would also be there too. It just so happens, they both were looking to update their clothing. He confronts her again and they chat a little and then they part again, only this time a date is confirmed at Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Delighted to make reservations and to plan a wonderful evening of getting to know his better half, nothing could be so perfect, so grand and spectacular.
So the dinner date is arranged and this man and his perfect woman are out on a date. Shortly into the date this man finds out this woman does not believe in God. He knows that the Bible says that a man or woman should not be unequally yoked, but he reminds himself that she is perfect the way she is. A little disturbed by this because he is Christian, he decides to continue the relationship, because what would Jesus do? Get her saved. Right?
They have been dating for six months now and he is ready to marry her. She is not saved and his attempts to present Christ were met with let’s agree to disagree. This man finds himself at the decision point when purchasing the ring, but he keeps recalling those light brown eyes and those perfect bells and whistles.
So he plunges in and they get married and the honeymoon could not be better. They stayed at their beautiful home, because the wedding was so expensive there was no money left over for a trip to Europe or the Bahamas.
The fire of passion fades and the flames are dialed down and this man gets more zealous about his relationship with Jesus. His wife is not pleased with his time at church, as she does not attend, due to the fact she does not believe in God. Then something happens…
Please comment – should they have gotten married? If no or yes please answer why?

I should not have allowed you to pass by without a single word about my most precious gift. I should not have kept running on the treadmill beside you without sharing a single word. I should not have allowed the … Continue reading
There are thoughts that run continually through the mind. You gather your things in the morning and you run out the door headed for work. The only thing you forgot while leaving was your presentation notes. These notes would be used to catapult you to the next level. You don’t have them and you are 35 minutes from home and the presentation is in one hour. What is the best strategy for this situation? Go and risk being tardy or become super creative within the hour before presenting?
Time and chance happens to them all. You could very well go in the meeting without your first idea and make it or your second idea could bomb it. You really do not know. If you are a Christian that has been fellowshipping with Jesus, you know that all things work together for good to them that love God. This knowledge not laced with a close relationship with Jesus provides little comfort.
Sweat develops on your forehead and you become frantic. What do you do? You calm yourself with a quiet prayer and begin asking the Lord for on the spot wisdom. You trust him and go into the meeting and present your second idea. The moment you step in front and begin to present, peace ensues.
The presentation was remarkable and you received your catapult. You thank the Lord for his faithfulness and grace.
When you have a victory from the Lord do not stop praising and thanking him. Let it be your lifestyle.

There may be humor in the guy who forgets his anniversary and his cute wife hits him over the head with a paper towel or thumps him on the forehead. There may be a chuckle when someone forgets to check themselves before leaving the bathroom and toilet paper is hanging from their pants as they walk down the work hallway. We are prone to forget things and sometimes often, but there are some things that are too dangerous to forget.
Those who choose not to retain the knowledge of God will lose their soul. “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it–not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it–they will be blessed in what they do” (James 1:25).
Blessings flow to those who remember the Lord and when this life is over they will enjoy eternal life.
“Be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them” (Deuteronomy 4:9).
“For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will do so, until he be taken out of the way” (2 Thessalonians 2:7). You may have read my post titled “THE BIBLE on the History Channel”, if not, you should read the post and the comments. I believe the information is rewarding and compliments Deuteronomy 4:9, above, particularly the part on teaching your children.
May you not forget the word of God as it is written and may you seek to retain his knowledge for the world is working hard to deceive. Rightly dividing the word of truth will be required, because the world is using the Bible to deceive. This concept is not foreign, but old. Satan tried the same with Jesus in the wilderness.
Just because someone holds the Bible and teaches from the Bible does not mean this person is saved and knows the Lord. Remember the Pharisees?
It’s dangerous to forget that belief in Jesus will incur persecution. Think it not strange. They persecuted Jesus and they will persecute you.

Are you the type of person that allows others to add to your drop down list? Was there a time when you can recall that your drop down menu was short? There were only a few things that you would accept? Societal change toward what some would believe is progress, but in actuality is decay and you decided to add it to the drop down. Are you picking up things that should not be an option?
It is important to review your drop down menu and make sure no option for sin or unwise living is available. Are you about to co-sign on a loan? The Bible records that to be an unwise decision, have you added this to the drop down? A growing number of secular counselors say adding pornography to the marriage is healthy. Have you added this to the drop down?
When you look at others who appear to do well sinning and smiling, please remember the Bible says the wicked are being set up. It is easy to add things to the drop down. That is why we must examine ourselves. So take time to examine yourself. Repent if needed. Move on and prosper.

It would seem the church is getting quite the visibility on television these days, as “Christ” the supposed product is becoming more and more a lucrative venture. Is this a good thing? Is this a bad thing? Listen to the words of Paul:
“To be sure, some preach Christ out of envy and strife, but others out of good will. The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: But that doesn’t matter. Whether their motives are false or genuine, the message about Christ is being preached either way, so I rejoice. And I will continue to rejoice (Philippians 1:15-18).”
It must be said that my understanding of the show is limited to the premiere episode and not for what may unfold on the show, but having seen the first episode it motivates me to inform many parents who are afraid to talk about sex to stop right away. The first thing that stuck out to me on the preachers daughters was the daughter who used freedom and porn star in the same sentence.
Her ignorance of the life of a porn star should have been met with a teaching point for enlightenment. She needed to be given understanding and not the third degree about it being wrong. I understand her older sister shed a little light, but the parents not so much.
She should have been told that many porn stars suffer from STD’s and the inability to get pregnant. They often get stuck into prescription/illegal drug abuse. Those who have children encourage them to stay away from it. Others get tricked into sex trafficking, which is sex slavery, not freedom. This lifestyle is a slippery slope to hurt, pain, low self-esteem and feelings of worthlessness.
There was another daughter who did not know the father of her baby. What do we say to all these things?
Ignorance for the Christian parent is not bliss. Children are exposed to a whole lot more information then the previous generation. The Christian parent needs to have a personal relationship with Jesus and teach their children to have the same. Being a follower of Christ is more than rules and regulations. We serve a living God who speaks to us. We must teach our children to hear from God.
